It is urgent to raise awareness to eliminate, reduce and control the risks that may affect our security.

Safety becomes important when we value something that we lose by exposing it to danger, since dangers can be prevented.

This time I will talk about safety, but since the subject is very broad, I will talk about safety when driving a vehicle on the road or in the city.

There are causes by which most fatal accidents are caused so it is important that you know them:

               CAUSE AND PREVENTION

Speeding:

Never exceed the maximum authorized speed, respecting what is marked on the signs.

“Save your Life, Take care of your Distance”

 – Driving too close:                                                                                                                                                                 There is a rule to avoid collisions by reach, keeping the distance to the vehicle in front and it is known as the 3-second rule, where reaction time and displacement when applying the brake are taken into account, since it takes us approximately 1 second the reaction to apply the brake and 1 second plus the distance our vehicle travels after braking and the other second is the safety margin to avoid colliding with the car in front, it is the simplest and safest way to save lives Unfortunately, few drivers respect this safety measure, which is reflected in the increase in fatal accidents in the state, so it is important to apply this simple rule since it is much easier and safer to count three seconds, regardless at the speed we travel since the distance is directly proportional to the time, and there is a simple way to count exactly those three seconds and it is by mentally counting from A or Five, I invite you to practice it, you will see how simple it is, obviously this is under normal conditions; When there is rain, snow or other conditions of our vehicle and the pavement, we must increase the calculation of the time in more seconds, however, below we give you a table of the relationship between speed and displacement in measurements.

Speed in miles                                                  Displacement per second

      Per Hour                                                           Yards               Meters

         40                                                                    19.56                17.88

       50                                                                      24.44                22.35

       60                                                                      29.33                26.82

       70                                                                      34.22                31.29

       80                                                                      39.11                35.76

       90                                                                      44.00                40.23

– Driver distraction:

Distracted driving is any activity that diverts your attention from driving — including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, or adjusting the stereo or navigation and entertainment systems — anything that divert your attention from the task of driving safely.

– The most alarming distraction is texting.

– Send or read a text while driving, take your eyes off the road for 5 seconds. Going 55 mph, it’s like driving the length of a football field with your eyes closed.

– You cannot drive safely without your full attention behind the wheel. Any activity you participate in, other than driving, is a potential distraction and increases your risk of crashing. Causing an accident is not only the moment of impact but the consequences it brings afterward.

Currently there are states that now have laws against texting, talking on the cell phone and other distractions while driving, this is for your protection and protection from others.

The use of the seat belt and the directional are important part to avoid the severity to which an impact can reach.

In the upper left part of the steering wheel there is a lever that when moved activates the flashing lights of the car, which in turn indicate the change you are going to make in direction, this helps the drivers who are around you to give you the pass so you can comfortably make the lane change, street change or turn.

First look in the rearview mirror if you have a clear path to make the lane change, check your blind spot, the use of the turn signal tells other drivers the maneuver you are going to perform and helps prevent an impact.

Use the seat belt and if necessary, the seat for children according to their age, in some states they help you install them and you can find them cheaply or for free in the safety department.

The seat belt helps you avoid being projected out of the car due to the impact and impacting you with greater force against the ground.

With a safety step that you take at the same time you protect others; you protect yourself and you can avoid causing damage and loss.
